6 June 2017
Dear Parent or Carer
Please find outlined below the end of year procedures, which will take place from the 15th of June.
Thursday 15th of June will be the last day of the current timetable. Students’ successes will be celebrated during assemblies, by year group, throughout the course of the day. This will also be the last official day for our Year 11 students. They will take part in the final assembly of the day finishing at 2.45 pm.
Friday 16th of June is a training day where the school will be closed to all students with the exception of examinations. All Year 11 students will be expected in school for their Physics examination in the morning, for which they will report directly to the school hall at 8.30 am. Students who have examinations in the afternoon will be provided with a quiet space to revise, supported by a member of the technology department.
Monday 19th of June is the first day of the new timetable.
Improvements to the school day will see registration move to the start of the day. At the same time, ALL tutor groups throughout the school will be re-organised and different year groups will be given specific entrances to the school. This will enable the school to zone year groups in specific locations for morning tutorial. On June 19th students will have an extended form period, which will run until 9.40 am, where they will receive planners and new timetables as well as meet their form tutor. The rest of the morning will be taken up by assemblies, where I will talk to students about expectations for the coming year. All students will then be in lessons for the afternoon.
Please see below the full morning timings of the new timetable which will run from the 19th of June onwards:
Registration: 8.20 – 8.40 am
Period 1: 8.40 – 9.40 am
Period 2: 9.40 – 10.40 am
Morning break: 10.40 – 11.00 am
Period 3: 11.00 – 12.00 pm
Afternoon periods remain the same.
Mr J Richardson
