Students from years 8, 9 and 10 were given the opportunity to take part in a Battlefields trip to Ypres in Belgium.
We visited the trenches, the commonwealth cemeteries and learned a lot about how the war was fought from our very knowledgeable guide, Bruce.
We chose 4 students to take part in the Last Post ceremony which has taken place every evening since 1928 - apart from during World War 2.
Our students did us proud, placing a wreath on behalf of the school to honour the fallen.
We also visited the grave of one of our students great great grandad's and placed a wreath in his memory.
We also bought lots (and ate lots) of Belgian chocolate!
