What a fantastic first week back. Students arrived looking smart, excited and ready to learn!

Our Year 7 students are settling in well and getting to grips with life at Beckfoot Thornton.
I was blown away when I discovered that out of the whole cohort of Year 7 students (all 267 of them), there had only been one behaviour code given last week.
This is outstanding and a trend that I would like to continue throughout the year as well as throughout the other year groups.

We have many exciting events to look forward to over the coming weeks. Next week, some of our Year 13 students will be going on a Biology field trip to Boggle Hole in North Yorkshire.
On 27th September at 5.45pm, we will be holding our secondary open evening for prospective parents of next years’ year 7 cohort.
Years 7, 10 and 12 will be having their school photos taken on 21st September, so keep an eye out for information about how to buy your child’s photo’s closer to the time!

I would like to thank parents and students for being considerate and not parking on double yellow lines/in bus bays at drop off and pick up times, whilst Leaventhorpe Lane is closed for major gas works.

It is evident that Thornton Road is better equipped to manage the volume of traffic at the start and end of the day.

If parents could please continue to drop off/pick up from Thornton Road even when Leaventhorpe Lane is re-opened, it would be most helpful.

Let’s have a fantastic first term and ensure that our students enjoy, learn and succeed!
