What a fabulous first half term we have had here at Beckfoot Thornton.
I have to admit, I have found myself being stopped in corridors quite regularly recently! Visitors to our school have been very impressed by the manners demonstrated by our students, such as having doors held open for them and students remembering to say please and thank you.
Visitors have also remarked at how professional our 6th form students appear in their business wear.
Over the last few weeks, we have had many exciting events going on.
On the 5th, 6th and 7th October, our Duke of Edinburgh students successfully completed their silver assessed expedition, despite challenging weather conditions. Well done!
On 11th October, Year 11 and Post 16 students were invited to attend our careers day, with talks from local colleges, universities, apprenticeship schemes and the Armed Forces.
The day was very successful and I hope students found the event to be informative and useful.
Looking forward, our Year 11 students will be undertaking their French and German mock exams week commencing 5th November.
I will be delighted to meet parents of our Year 10 students, at our parents evening on Thursday 1st November.
I hope that you have a restful break, I look forward to greeting students on Monday 29th October, ready for the new half term.
