Year 9 student Amar, is a young athlete aspiring to become a professional boxer. He is a quiet and humble young man who comes from a fine boxing pedigree. Due to Amar’s modesty, his boxing ability was only recently discovered in a boxing lesson, during PE with Mr Coulson.
Amar’s father, a local boxing name himself, supports by helping him to get up at 4:30am every morning for a 5 mile jog as well as training him in an evening. This support, along with the fine coaching by the evergreen Julian at Bradford Police Boy’s Amateur Boxing Club, means Amar has all the support needed to refine his natural ability and make him a real future prospect.
Amar epitomises the Beckfoot Thornton Learner with his resilience, commitment and ambition in his sport, as well as his studies.
Recently Amar travelled to Hull to take on a local talent in his own backyard and came out victorious, much to surprise of the local crowd. Needless to say, the small Yorkshire contingent were euphoric!
We look forward to supporting Amar in his boxing journey and seeing many more successes, alongside his studies at Beckfoot Thornton over the next few years.
