Headteacher’s Blog 18/01/2019

We have had another fine week here at Beckfoot Thornton.

Year 12 and 13 students have been working tirelessly to complete their exams. Their commitment to their studies has been impeccable.

I really enjoyed seeing so many families at our Year 8 parents evening last week. It was great to have such a strong turn-out.

Our partnership with parents creates transparency, trust and ensures that we are all working towards the same goals for our children.

Our Student Leadership is really taking off. On Monday, students held an “Empowering Minds” meeting with Mr Shahid, Behaviour Team Leader.

Working closely with the Empowering Minds Company, students gain an awareness and understanding of radicalisation and grooming.

Work of the week goes from strength to strength with students being nominated by their teachers for outstanding achievement. Their work is displayed on our home page as well as being exhibited in the hall.

We have reached the time of year where the risk of snow increases.

As a reminder, in the event of school being closed due to inclement weather, parents/carers will be notified via MyEd and the school website as early as possible.

In addition, information about school closures will also be available at the Bradford Schools Online (BSO) address below:

Parents and carers are advised to visit the Metro website below to check if school buses are running:
