Headteacher’s Blog 08/02/2019

Hello and welcome to my blog.

We have enjoyed another great week at Beckfoot Thornton.

Our Year 10 rugby team put up a valiant effort yesterday whilst playing against Kettlethorpe.

The boys fought hard, leading by two points right until the last ten minutes, unfortunately losing 38-22 in the end!

I was very impressed with the mature and responsible approach our Student Council took when they assisted with the interview process for a group of new student teachers. Student feedback is highly valued and it was great to have them so actively involved.

Our teaching staff this week worked together in a training session, to improve the way vocabulary is taught to students. This is part of our initiative to broaden and deepen students’ spoken and written English.

Next week is the last week of this half-term. School will close on Friday 15th February at the normal time and will re-open on Monday 25th February.

Finally from me, we are currently recruiting a number of roles, including Exam Invigilators.

Invigilators carry out a key role in ensuring stress felt by students during exams is minimised whilst ensuring regulations are met.

If you or anyone you know are interested in applying, please follow the link below to our recruitment page:
