What a fantastic week we have had!
Yesterday, a second group of students visited Cartwright Hall in as part of the Discover Arts Award they are completing. As you can see, the trip was thoroughly enjoyed.
Myself and the Year 8 and 9 students involved in The Brilliant Club were delighted to meet with Chris, the CEO of The Brilliant Club earlier in the week. After an introductory day at Worcester College, Oxford, our 12x Year 9 students have been on a programme of degree-level seminars, led by PHD students. Their work was recently assessed as being the standard of an upper second class honours degree! They enjoyed a lovely graduation ceremony.
Our new cohort of Year 8 students have just been selected and are excited about their opportunity to strive for Brilliance. They are attending the launch trip held at Worcester College on the 28th March and then the hard work begins for them!
Year 11 and Year 13 will be starting their mock exams as soon as we come back after half-term.
I know you will encourage your child to pile on the revision during the holidays.
During exams, students will be given the opportunity to hand their mobile phones in for safekeeping. Any student that is subsequently found to be in possession of their mobile phone, switched on or not, will be sanctioned. Exam regulations prohibit phones in the exam venue. Possession of a phone can jeopardise the grades of others.
Good luck to all students sitting their exams!
Finally, I would like to wish you all a fantastic break. I look forward to welcoming students back to school on Monday 25th February.
