Empowering Minds Ambassadors Award Ceremony

Beckfoot Thornton students working with Empowering Minds, were invited to attend a prestigious award ceremony as ambassadors of the project, at Bradford City Hall on Tuesday.

In addition to assisting with the overall running of the evening, students delivered speeches with tenacity and confidence, to an audience of two hundred people about the work they had carried out on a project to empower mothers to stand up against radicalisation and grooming.

Our students demonstrated that they had broadened their understanding of radicalisation and grooming and were willing to help other individuals to understand the importance of spreading the message, to create a united Bradford.

Guests included the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, the Lord Mayor of Bradford, the Chief Constable of West Yorkshire Police and mothers from all over Bradford that had attended the Empowering Minds course.

Congratulations to Laiba, Leah, Ayra, Benjamin, Hammaad, Tobias and Aman!
