Some of our students recently took part in the first of four sessions called the Junior Engineering Engagement Programme (J.E.E.P). The project is known as J.E.E.P for short and is run by the Transformation Trust (England) (TT) in partnership with ABM UK.
Year 7 students were selected due to their positive engagement in engineering/design technology subjects and their flare for problem solving.
The J.E.E.P aims to change perceptions of the facilities management industry and show students what a career in facilities management and engineering looks like – opening their eyes to the variety of paths available to them.
In session 1 students took part in a variety of team building and ‘get to know you’ activities before completing and interpreting four science experiments. The aim of the day was to get students to think about sustainability and what can be done in terms of facilities management to improve efficiency in various aspects of schools/businesses.
