Welcome to my blog.
On Monday and Tuesday this week, 70 of our Year 9 students engaged in the KPMG Work-ready Hackathon. The Transformation Trust worked with students to explore the latest technology that is transforming the way businesses solve their everyday problems.
I had the delight of being invited to a reward breakfast held on Tuesday, in order to say thank you to all of our library monitors. Thank you for all of your hard work!
On Wednesday 60 of our Year 10 students attended an interesting and exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) project at Newcastle University. A great day was had by all.
The whole cohort of our Year 12 students have today made their way to Leeds Beckett University, where they will enjoy an Education Fair.
You may recall our “Sweets in a jar” competition. It gives me great pleasure to announce that Year 8 raised £48.69 for Cancer Support Yorkshire. Well done to our winners.
Next week, students will start their new academic year. All students have received their new timetables and information about where their new classes are. Attached below is a reminder of the letter sent to parents and carers about changes to the Year teams and expectations of students.
Students have worked really hard this last year, improving their behaviour, attendance and attitude to learning - something that is ever-evolving.
Let’s keep on improving over the remaining few weeks of the school year. Year 7 students joining us in September will follow your example, let it be a strong and positive one!
Let’s have a fantastic start to the new academic year.
Have a fantastic few days away from school. I look forward to seeing your child on Monday 24th June at the usual time.
