Headteacher’s Blog 12/07/2019

Welcome to my blog.
We are fast approaching the end of the summer term. One more week to go.
On Monday, 49 of our Year 9 students competed in a presentation as part of their work with FirstGive. I am thrilled to say that our students won! The prize was £1000 for the charity Bradford Nightstop.
We have a great take-up of Year 9 students that are to be our new members of the Sports Leadership Academy. Here they are getting the low-down from Mr Painter. Our sports leaders assist in the leading, delivery and officiating of a variety of sport related activities and competitions.

On Monday and Tuesday, our Year 8 and Year 9 students had the opportunity to engage in a careers-led event all about the stock market. Students’ worked in small groups buying and selling “shares”. The events were a success and encouraged teamwork, communication, decision making and finance skills to be used and further developed.

Well done (again!) to Beth, our Year 10 archer, who was placed 3rd in the National Championships in the under-16 compound girls’ category.
