Hello and welcome to my blog.
I hope that you enjoyed a peaceful half-term.
What a damp, dark, whirlwind of a week that has been! The weather hasn't stopped us, as always, we have been all go at Beckfoot Thornton.
On Monday this week, some of our finest sporting students competed at the Primary and Secondary Panathlon at Bradford Grammar school. In addition to competing, four of our dedicated sports leaders attended and helped to oversee the organisation of the day. A huge thank you and well done to all involved.
On Wednesday, we again welcomed the team from Solutions not Sides, to talk to our Year 12 students about finding solutions to help young people that are growing up in areas of conflict. The session was very thought-provoking and our students responded with real passion for the cause.
Last night I was thrilled to welcome families of our Year 7 students for our Preparing for Success Evening. The horrendous weather didn't stop people from pouring in to the school. Thank you to everyone that fought there way through the flood-stricken roads to attend.
Next week marks the start of a very important time for students in Year 11. Students will begin their mock GCSE examinations on Monday. Exams will be running for two weeks. Each student will have received their individual exam timetable, however if they are misplaced, please contact Mrs Lines immediately: email@example.com
Parents and Carers, please re-iterate the importance of students' revising at home in the run -up to, and during the exam period.
If students really apply themselves, their mock exam results will enable us to work out what happens to your child next and identify any areas where they may require support.
