Headteacher’s Blog 13/12/2019

Hello and welcome to my blog.

This week, Year 9 students enjoyed a Personal Development drop down day.

Students were off timetable all day, attending a range of workshops about faith and belief. They explored a range of themes, including; Festivals of Light, Human Rights, The dangers of stereotypes, What is humanism?, Similarities and differences and The Ethics of euthanasia.

It really was a fantastic day. Students listened, debated and reflected on what they had learned, treating the activities with tact, sensitivity and responsibility. Well done Year 9!

Yesterday, Year 11 students received their mock exam results. Whilst many students have done really well, we have to remember that this is just the start! The hard-work must continue between now and June, in order for students to achieve their very best.

I am very much looking forward to seeing our Year 11 families on Monday at the Parents Evening and 6th Form Open Evening, between 4.00-7.00pm. I will have more information for you then.

Looking to next week, on Wednesday it is the school Christmas Show. A highly anticipated event that showcases the numerous talents of our students! Tickets have now sold out, look out for pictures next week!

Have an enjoyable weekend. I hope that you enjoy the accompanying art work from Shamas in Year 9!
