Hello and welcome to my blog.
I hope that you are all well and are keeping safe.
I would like to start by saying how grateful I am for the overwhelming support shown to our school from parents, carers, students, staff and our local community.
This is a really challenging and uncertain time, which we are all in together.
Thank you to all our parents and carers for continuing to encourage their children to complete their work, which is being set on Show My Homework and SAM learning. The quality of the work we are seeing is fantastic.
Our staff are keeping an eye on work completed on the abovementioned platforms, however, if your child has completed a piece of work that you feel should be recognised, please email it to firstname.lastname@example.org
and we will try to include it in our weekly work of the week!
If your child is struggling to complete their work, please encourage them to contact their teacher through Show My Homework, rather than contacting them via their individual email address.
You may of course contact the email@example.com email address at any time, with any queries and we will assist as best as we can.
This week, families of those students that are eligible for free school meals have had provisions sent out to them, either via email or through the post.
At present, we are waiting to find out exactly what the plans for free school meals eligible students will be, ongoing. We will keep you up to date as and when we receive further information.
If your child is eligible for free school meals, and you received your provision via the post, please email the firstname.lastname@example.org email address to provide us with your up to date email address.
A number of families have contacted school regarding Year 11 and Year 13 work that has been set and whether this still needs to be completed. We would strongly advise that this work, including coursework, is completed. As of yet, we have not had guidance as to exactly how Year 11 and Year 13 students' A level and GCSE grades will be calculated. I outlined this in my recent letter to the parents of these children. We will let you know as soon as we do have the guidance.
As you are likely to be aware, school is still closed. Only students of key workers are permitted on site.
I hope that you enjoy looking at some of the excellent work that has been completed by our students this week.
