Headteacher’s Blog 10/07/2020

Hello and welcome to my blog.
This year has seen another cohort of year 8 student volunteers make a superb contribution to life in the school library. Before the school closure, our team of Library Monitors had given up their time during breaks and lunches, helping other students in the library by issuing books, shelving returns, providing ICT support, and running the stationery shop. These students have impressed us with their positive attitudes, and it has been great to see the different skills they have developed along the way. Well done and thank you to the Library Monitors!

We too are disappointed that our Year 11 and Year 13 exam results days are to be held remotely this year. Given the circumstances and prevalent risks of transmission of Covid 19, this decision was made with a heavy heart. Once we are somewhere back to normal (whenever this may be), we hope to arrange a proper send-off for our students.
We are busy planning for our opening in September, carefully following Public Health England and government guidelines. We are assessing risks and identifying controls to mitigate them. We will soon be providing you with more details about what our procedures and expectations will be in September.
Please keep on sending in your fantastic work. We are seeing some excellent work being completed from home!
