Welcome to my blog.
We have had a fabulous first half-term back at school. This is the time where everyone starts to feel a bit tired, but fear not, we are nearly there - one more week to go.
Please keep up the excellent behaviour and presentation standards. We have really got into the swing of wearing face coverings and students are working really well within their bubbles.
As I mentioned last week, our Year 11 Brilliant Club students got to celebrate 3 years of hard work on Friday. These 11 students started on the programme in Year 8 and finished it during lockdown earlier this year.
The programme has been designed to allow students to recognise their potential and heighten aspirations in terms of further education.
On Friday, these students got to reflect on the hard work they had put into the programme and the skills they had learnt along the way. Many of them are excited about their next steps at our Sixth Form College and are looking further into the future, setting their sights on some of the UKs top universities.
At the Graduation, the Brilliant Club delivered a live session congratulating students. Then certificates were given to each of our 11 graduates. Students then got to throw their mortarboards in celebration, before heading back indoors for an Information and Guidance session.
Well done to all of our Graduates! (The graduates are all in the same bubble so can be together!).
I am delighted to let you know that every girl at Beckfoot Thornton has been given information about our campaign to end Period Poverty. Mrs Kendall, our Student Support Hub Co-ordinator discreetly informed female students that she can now offer any, and every girl here at school, free period products, when they need them. For further information, please contact Mrs Kendall.
Have a lovely weekend.
