The mock exams have now come to an end for our Year 11 students.
Students studied hard and coped very well with pressure that the exams brought. As mentioned in my last blog, Mock exam results day will be on Thursday 13th December and further information will come out closer to the time.
You may recall that last Friday we held a bake sale to raise money for Children in Need. I am thrilled to say that a total of £182.97 was raised. Again, thank you so much to everyone that took part and donated.
Next week sixteen of our students are going to play at the Yorkshire Cup at St Mary’s College in Hull. We wish them all the very best of luck!
I was delighted to receive an invitation from Year 10 students to attend their afternoon tea event on Friday next week. The students are about begin a topic based on Hospitality and Catering within the industry and have been given the opportunity to experience this first hand by planning and hosting the event.
You may have seen some of our students on “Look North” at lunchtime. They were interviewed while they were taking part in a scheme run by Oxford University to raise aspirations. The students were brilliant!
Every Thursday at break time, I meet with students from all year groups throughout the school that have completed excellent work.
At our “Work of the Week” meeting, students show me their work explaining the methods and techniques that they used. Afterwards, the students and I enjoy a treat and their work is photographed in order for it to be framed and showcased in the school hall as well as on the school website.
Please see a selection of this weeks’ Work of the Week below – I am sure you will be just as impressed as I am!
