Hello and welcome to the Year 7 page.
(L-R, Mrs Sutcliffe, Miss Smith, Mr Crossley)
Meet the Team:
Miss K Smith – Associate Assistant Headteacher ICO Year 7 Curriculum and Year 7 Support & Challenge Manager
Mrs C Sutcliffe – Year 7 Assistant Support & Challenge Manager
Mr S Crossley – Lead Behaviour Co-ordinator and Year 7 Behaviour Worker
Year 7 are focusing on oracy skills at the moment. This will allow students to look at how they can develop their speaking skills to become much more confident speakers as well as help them to take part in their lessons fully.
Transition is fast approaching and year 7have been working with Miss Horne and myself to look at what they think could be improved based on their experiences last year. As they are also completing the oracy training they will help to lead some of the sessions as well as assist the year team over the 3 days facilitating groups and leading tours.
We have also got an exciting opportunity coming up for a small number of students who have worked exceptionally hard and managed to bag themselves a place on the residential trip to Buckden House. Places are very limited and we have so many deserving students we have had to set the criteria at a very high level on this occasion of over 99% attendance, no behaviour codes and over 100 achievement points! We will also be taking some students to Doe Park to take part in outdoor activities up there.
We are also very lucky to have been chosen to work on the J.E.E.P project, where students are learning all about engineering and how they can get involved and perhaps look at a career in this area. See on the website for more information about this exciting project.
