Headteacher's Blog 12/11/2021
Welcome to my blog.
We have had a busy but great start to this half-term!
For the past two weeks, Year 11 and Year 13 students have been undertaking their mock exams. Students have worked really hard, behaved well and followed instructions from the invigilators. I am sure they will need a relaxing weekend after all their efforts!
On Friday last week, Mrs Taylor had the undeniably enviable job of handing out doughnuts to all of our homework heroes. Well done to Radhika and Lucas in Year 7, Jaskirat and Holly in Year 8, Jack and Sana in Year 9, Ehsan and Imtiaz in Year 10 and Jaspreet and Junior in Year 11!
Our Year 8 JEEP Club met on Tuesday to discuss ideas about reducing waste. As usual, they had an abundance of fantastic ideas and the creative juices were really flowing. Well done everyone.
Yesterday, we marked a minute’s silence to recognise Remembrance Day, remembering those that fought and lost their lives in war. Our staff and students assembled on the Astro turf at the end of break. The students were absolutely amazing. They showed the utmost respect and remained silent during the playing of the Last Post. Everyone at Beckfoot Thornton is thoroughly proud of how responsible and mature our students were. I thank everyone for being so respectful.
Have a fantastic weekend.
