Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Headteacher's Blog 17/09/2021

Welcome to my blog.
We have had another fantastic week here at Beckfoot Thornton.
Our Year 7 and Year 12 students have really got to grips with the layout of the school building and our expectations of them. They are blowing us away!
This week has been quite steady as we continue to ease back into our normal daily life at school.
I have met some wonderful students this week who I am sure are really going to excel during their time here.
Yesterday, I met two students who have done particularly well. Both were from Year 9. Lexie came to see me to tell me that she has been selected for team England's first ever youth Pom, (cheerleading) team to compete in Florida in April. How exciting!
I also met with Talia, who had completed some fantastic work in design technology. Very well done to both of you!

Next week, I am thrilled to say that we will be able to undertake work of the week once again with our students who have completed the best work from their year group that week. Keep an eye out for next week's blog for the photos.

On Thursday next week, we are really looking forward to welcoming Year 6 parents and carers to our Open Evening. The evening will run from 5.45-8.00pm. Parking will be available on Thornton Road and in our large overflow car park. Please be aware that Leaventhorpe Lane is residents only parking and the Council do patrol and ticket unauthorised vehicles.
We hope to see you there.
Have a nice weekend.
