In Geography, we designed our own Antarctica flags based on our learning about the continent of Antarctica. Designs included the Southern Lights. penguins and sea life.
The Beckfoot Thornton flag travelled to Antarctica on the boat Erebus to Ryder Bay near Adelaide Island with scientists Ben Sharp and Sinead Bolt, who were taking water samples and living in Rothera station. This project has helped us to learn more about the research happening in Antarctica, what life is like for scientists on a daily basis and how beautiful the landscape is.
