Safeguarding all at Beckfoot Thornton

At Beckfoot Thornton, the safety and wellbeing of all our students is our highest priority. We are committed to ensuring that any concerns about a child are shared quickly, handled sensitively and acted upon appropriately.

To further strengthen our safeguarding systems, we are introducing a new online safeguarding reporting form:

This form has been designed to make it as easy as possible for families and students to raise any concerns they may have about a child’s safety or wellbeing. This may include concerns about:

  • Bullying or peer relationships
  • Mental health and emotional wellbeing
  • Online safety
  • Welfare or safeguarding issues affecting any child

Once a concern is submitted:

  • It will be reviewed promptly by our safeguarding team
  • Appropriate action will be taken in line with our safeguarding procedures
  • You will be contacted where necessary to ensure the right support is in place

We want to reassure all families that:

  • Every concern is taken seriously
  • Information is handled sensitively and in line with safeguarding and confidentiality expectations
  • Our priority is always to support and protect students

We strongly encourage you to use this form if you have any worries, no matter how small they may seem. Early communication helps us to provide timely support and ensure the best outcomes for our young people. However, please be aware that responses are not monitored out of school hours, at the weekend or during school holidays. If you think a child is at immediate risk of harm, please contact 111 or 999.

As always, you can also contact the school directly via [email protected] or by telephone if you would prefer to speak to a member of staff. Please be aware that during the school day, staff are often working with students and so may not be able to speak to you.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a safe and caring environment for all students.
