We are looking forward to welcome prospective families to our Open Evening on Thursday 25th September, 5.30PM - 7.30PM.

At Beckfoot Thornton, we ensure that our curriculum is inclusive and is mission aligned to the Beckfoot Trust ambition to leave no child behind.

Our Curriculum

At Beckfoot Thornton, our vision is that students acquire the knowledge, build the cultural capital and develop the character to live their best lives. Our values of enjoy, learn and succeed underpin our curriculum choices as a school. As such, our students study a broad and balanced curriculum at both Key Stages, and our Key Stage 4 programme commences in Year 10. Whilst our aim is that the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) will be the qualification pathway for most of our students, our curriculum remains comprehensive and inclusive, including specific nurture provision at both KS3 and KS4 for those students who need it. To support students in all our lessons, we use five learning modes to help manage cognitive load and allow students to focus on the job of learning. Our students are also provided with a bespoke knowledge organiser that outlines all of the key knowledge that they need to know and remember.
