We are completely aligned with the Beckfoot Trust mission of ‘creating remarkable schools where no child is left behind’. It is our responsibility to ensure we provide the highest quality of education for all students, regardless of their background. We achieve this by providing all students with an ambitious curriculum to not only succeed academically, but also to build their cultural capital and develop the character to live their best lives.
Our school became Beckfoot Thornton in October 2016 when we joined the Beckfoot Trust. As a result of our continued development to create a remarkable school we will not rest until our attainment is in the top 10% of all schools. To do this we continue to develop the quality of education that all students receive, and we expect all students to behave well all of the time.
Our students study a broad and balanced curriculum, and our Key Stage 4 programme commences in Year 10. Whilst our aim is that the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) will be the qualification pathway for most of our students, our curriculum remains comprehensive and inclusive. To support students we use five learning modes in every lesson to help manage cognitive load and allow students to focus on the job of learning.
Our staff body is a dedicated team of professionals, all of whom play a key role in ensuring students enjoy, learn and succeed in a place where they feel safe. We work closely with families and the community, to create a strong partnership to support the students to be the best possible version of themselves.
If you would like to find out more about our school and arrange a visit please contact us on [email protected] – We look forward to meeting you.
