Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Headteacher's Blog 08/04/2022

Welcome to my blog.
We have had such a fantastic term here at Beckfoot Thornton!
It has been amazing to get back to the new normal.
The lifting of Covid restrictions has meant that we have enjoyed wonderful trips including to the Alhambra, the Media Museum and Maths City and Year 12 students successfully completed their work experience.
We have had a plethora of speakers in school, including FirstGive, NCS, The Talent Foundry - something which we have really missed.
We have also thoroughly enjoyed seeing the smiling faces of our students back together in the hall for assemblies, instead of seeing icons on Teams!
Year 11 and Year 13 students worked really hard to complete their mock exams in February and they are now counting down the days to their first actual exams which begin shortly after Easter.
It was touch and go yesterday morning weather-wise, but the sun came through for us at our second '100% Attendance' reward fairground. Students that had achieved 100% attendance this term were able to go to our very own fairground rides and enjoy popcorn and candyfloss until they could take no more!

As always, I want to extend my sincere thanks to all our students, parents, carers, residents and supporters for all of the support you have and continue to provide to the school. It is really appreciated.
As I mentioned, the exams begin shortly after Easter. It is really important - now more than ever, that as well as having a well-earned break, students continue to revise, use their knowledge organisers and revision strategies to really prepare them, so that they can do their absolute best in their exams.
I hope you all have a fantastic break.
School reopens on Monday 25th April at the usual time.
