Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Future Ready

Beckfoot Thornton works with Prospects to give your child careers information, advice and guidance.

The Careers Advisor for our school is Kiran Hussain. Kiran is based in school every Monday and Friday, in the careers office in the library.  The majority of Kiran's time is spent interviewing Y11 students to help them with their career plans for after Y11 – whether it be Sixth form, College or an Apprenticeship. Kiran also sees a number of younger students and undertakes group sessions.

Although Kiran sends out invites to students, they can also ask to be seen by completing a 'Request for Careers Information' slip available in their Form room or the Careers corner in the Library.

It is particularly important that any Yr11 thinking of leaving after GCSEs to do an Apprenticeship sees the Careers advisor as soon as possible.  Prospects can help match students to vacancies, but only if the Personal Adviser is aware that they are looking for work.  It is also advisable that any student in this situation registers with the National Apprenticeship website –

If you, as parents/guardians, wish to attend your child’s careers interview, discuss concerns or request information, Kiran can be contacted at school on Monday's and Friday's.
