Homework

At Beckfoot Thornton, our homework policy is underpinned by three key ideas:

1.      Homework consolidates learning that has taken place in school and is relevant to the curriculum. It gives students a chance to practise and reinforce skills and knowledge that they have acquired in class. This independent learning helps students to make progress.

2.      All students can access homework. Homework provides an appropriate level of challenge for all students and enables everyone to succeed. Homework does not cap our students but gives them an opportunity to extend their learning.

 

3.      Homework enables students to develop the attributes of the Beckfoot Learner – it builds resilience, independence, creativity, inquisitiveness and confidence. This helps our students to become life-long learners.

Homework policy

All students are expected to complete homework weekly. Detentions will be issued for non-completion of homework.

All homework is set via Show My Homework which can be found here: www.satchelone.com There is also a parent app available that allows you to track what homework has been set and completed - information around how to access this is also linked below.
