Hello and welcome to my blog.
Our Year 8 students have had a particularly busy week this week, undertaking their English, Maths and Science assessments under exam-style conditions. Year 8 were really sensible and listened carefully, following instructions about their designated seat numbers and how the assessments would take place.
On Wednesday this week, instead of our usual period 6 lessons after school, we held a well-being afternoon for our Year 10 students. It was lovely to see our students enjoying extra-curricular activities, feeling relaxed and leaving school feeling positive.
We were delighted to see so many Year 10 families at our virtual parents' evening yesterday!
We also had a fantastic 'Let's make more mess' module with Bradford College for some of our Year 7 students yesterday.
Next week, is Transition week! It is a fantastic time of year when we get to see September's Year 7 students for the first time. We are really looking forward to it. It is a great opportunity for students to gain a better understanding about our school buildings and it give students the opportunity to meet staff and take part in enjoyable activities.
If you are not sure which day your child should be attending, please get in touch with Mrs Beavers, who will be happy to help: RYB@beckfootthornton.org
