Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Dear Parent/Carer,

Reporting COVID symptoms/Positive COVID tests during the school holidays

Although it is now the school holidays, we still require you to inform us if your child receives a positive COVID test.

Please email our attendance team to let us know: attendance@beckfootthornton.org

If you are unsure or think that your child may have isolated for long enough already, please email us, to allow us to check.

Please do not send students to school after half-term if:

  • They are unwell or display symptoms of COVID (see symptoms below)
  • They have had close contact with someone who has symptoms of COVID (see symptoms below)
  • They have had close contact with someone who has had a positive COVID test.
  • Someone in their household has asked for a COVID test.

Symptoms of COVID 19

The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of:

•new continuous cough and/or

•high temperature and/or

•a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.

Further advice can be found from NHS 111 at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/check-if-you-have-coronavirus-symptoms/ or by phoning 111.

How to stop COVID-19 spreading

There are things you can do to help reduce the risk of you and anyone you live with getting ill with COVID-19

Do

  • wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
  • use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
  • wash your hands as soon as you get home
  • cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards

Yours sincerely
